Manual Lymphatic Drainage - MLD

What is it?

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, 'light touch' form of massage. It uses specific, rhythmic, and pumping circular and spiral-shaped movements to encourage the flow of lymph fluid throughout the body. Developed by Dr. Emil Vodder, this technique is a cornerstone of lymphatic health.

How does it work?

Unlike traditional massage, MLD focuses on the lymphatic system, a vital part of your immune system. The gentle, precise hand movements stimulate the lymphatic vessels, helping to move fluid, remove waste products, and reduce swelling. It is a non-invasive and deeply relaxing therapy.

What are the benefits?

  • Accelerated Recovery: Flushes metabolic byproducts from tissues after intense workouts, competitions, or surgery, reducing muscle soreness and speeding up healing.
  • Reduces Swelling & Inflammation: Alleviates fluid retention, joint swelling, and post-injury inflammation.
  • Pain Relief: Can help with muscular pain, migraines, and chronic headaches.
  • Immune Support: Can help with recurring colds, flu, and infections.
  • Digestive Health: Can assist with bloating, constipation, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
  • Skin Health: Can improve conditions like cellulite and aid in weight loss.
